What if there were no clouds in the Sky?

Have you ever wondered what would happen if there were no clouds in the sky? It becomes quite strange to look at the clear blue sky with the sun’s heat scorching. If there are no clouds it means a direct impact of solar radiation. Clouds bring rain which then moves the water cycle on Earth. Then how will plants grow and how can we get water?

Increase in humidity levels

The water present in the oceans, rivers, and seas evaporates due to the heat caused by the Sun. it then gathers in the atmosphere and condenses to form clouds. If the clouds are not formed the humidity level in the atmosphere will increase. It means an extremely warm temperature with no chance of rain.

Decrease in water level

When clouds form as a result of condensation, it brings rain which means that the water resources are returned to us. But if there are no clouds in the sky, it means that the water will become a non-renewable resource. Once it evaporates, there is no way we can get it back. It indicates the loss of life on Earth.

Loss of vegetation

Plants and trees are though dependent upon water from different sources but the majority of vegetation and plant growth occurs due to rain. If there is no rain, it means that we run short of water and adequate water can not be provided to the crops. The naturally growing vegetation and rainforests will start to die out. It means no food and ultimately no chance of survival.

Loss of natural habitat

If plants and trees can not grow, it means the loss of habitat for species. For herbivores, the food source is the wild vegetation and plants that grow in forests. The trees shelter them and if the trees start to wilt, it means they do not have a place to live. The species will start to become extinct and will eventually die out.

Forest fires

The chances of forest fires will increase if there are no clouds in the sky. This is because the amount of carbon dioxide in the surroundings will increase. It means that even a small spark is enough to cause a massive wildlife fire.

Desert

The irrigated soil will start to turn to desert if there are no clouds in the sky and no rain. The essential nutrients like sulfates and phosphates are provided to the Earth by the rain clouds. Rain also maintains the nutrient cycle indirectly. Our planet would be less green and will soon become a desert.

Increase in Earth’s temperature

When the water condenses and gathers into the atmosphere, it causes humidity. In this condition, the cooler air can not rise to the top and settles down which means an increase in the temperature. It is the reason that the regions of Earth having less rain are extremely hot with high humidity levels.
